About

BETA.MN is a Minneapolis-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit accelerator founded in 2013 to support Minnesota's technology startup ecosystem. The organization operates two primary programs: Twin Cities Startup Week (TCSW), an annual event designed to inspire aspiring entrepreneurs to launch ventures, and the BETA Cohort, a free, non-dilutive accelerator program that provides early-stage technology founders with education, mentorship, and access to Minnesota's investor and innovation community. The BETA Cohort accepts founding teams for structured cohort-based programming where participants learn core business skills, connect with peers, and gain exposure to established investors and corporate strategists. The organization sources and vets both investors and startups to facilitate strategic introductions based on industry focus, investment thesis, and company stage. BETA Alumni and active cohort participants receive priority access to the Backers program, a curated investment platform connecting startups with angel investors and institutional capital. The organization also accommodates rapidly scaling teams from Greater Minnesota. Verified portfolio investments include Octin Health, CorRen Medical, Altheia, Your Next Place, and Levelrie, spanning healthcare technology, diagnostic equipment, surgical devices, real estate services, and information services sectors. BETA.MN has made approximately 179 investments since inception. The accelerator functions as a convener and enabler rather than a traditional venture capital firm, positioning itself as a catalyst for founder success and investor activation within Minnesota's tech community. The organization maintains partnerships with established financial institutions and corporate partners like Bremer Bank to expand capital access and mentorship for portfolio companies.
