About

The Greater Nashville Private Capital Association (GNPCA) is a membership organization serving the private capital ecosystem across Middle Tennessee and beyond. Originally focused on venture capital, GNPCA expanded its mandate to represent the full spectrum of private capital stakeholders, including angel investors, venture capital firms, private equity funds, growth equity investors, family offices, university and corporate endowments, and professional service providers. The association emerged from recognition that Tennessee's investment landscape had grown increasingly diverse, with capital flowing across multiple stages and strategies. GNPCA's core mission centers on unlocking investment opportunities in the Nashville area while facilitating deal flow and collaboration among institutional and individual investors. As of 2024, member firms collectively managed $22.7 billion in assets under management, with $19.9 billion in private equity (including the outlier Arcline) and $2.9 billion in venture capital. That year, members executed 119 deals—44 in private equity and 75 in venture capital. Since 2019, the membership has completed 1,684 total deals across both strategies. Leadership includes Chair Bruce Evans, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Vanderbilt University and former co-managing partner at Summit Partners. Members include institutional investors such as Vanderbilt University's Office of Investments, angel investors like Nathan Freeman, and networks including Nashville Capital Network. The association convenes stakeholders for events such as its State of the Market forum and maintains a member directory. GNPCA also partners with data providers like PitchBook and state economic development agencies to produce market research and track deal activity. The organization operates a membership model designed to foster deal collaboration and support economic growth across the region.
